I contacted Leor JAcobi about the alleged minhag of using an artichoke for maror, and his response regarding the Srajevo haggadah's alleged artichoke was:<br /><br />The lettuce is depicted in a manner that resembles artichokes a bit, but still lettuce, in all the haggadot.<br /><br />Rabbinic teshuvot do not mention artichokes ad shyadi maga'at.
